What Type of Autoclave is Used in a Laboratory?

Laboratory autoclaves must meet Australian Standards, as well as best practice in the industry and local Council regulations.

We only stock and sell true B class autoclaves. These autoclaves provide the highest level of sterilisation and have proven themselves to be incredibly reliable.

Put simply, there are two main differences between ‘normal’ autoclaves and laboratory autoclaves.

1. Purpose of Use

Laboratory autoclaves can sterilise more types of material. They also have a moveable temperature probe/sensor which can be submerged in liquid to be sterilised.

2. Size

Our normal autoclaves are generally smaller than the laboratory models.

For example, the chamber size a nail salon requires compared to a laboratory is quite different. Nail salons generally only autoclave wrapped instruments while a lab may need to sterilise large bottles of liquid.
